LESSON 07 OF 07

What Is Kingdom
Service?

Have you ever thought about why God gives believers gifts, abilities, and opportunities? The Bible teaches that every believer has a role to play in God's kingdom.

Kingdom service refers to using our time, gifts, and abilities to serve God and advance His work on earth. It is the practical expression of our love and gratitude to God for the salvation we have received.

"As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."

— 1 Peter 4:10 KJV

Why is Kingdom Service Important?

1. Kingdom Service is an act of worship to God — Serving in God's house is one way we express our love, gratitude, and devotion to Him.

"Whatever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men."

— Colossians 3:23 KJV

2. Serving helps to build the body of Christ — The church grows and becomes stronger when believers use their gifts to support and serve one another.

"From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love."

— Ephesians 4:16 KJV

3. Jesus is our example of service — Christ Himself lived a life of service and calls us to follow His example.

"Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many."

— Matthew 20:28 KJV

4. Serving in God's house brings reward — God sees every act of service done in His name and promises to reward those who serve faithfully.

"For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name."

— Hebrews 6:10 KJV

Ways We Can Serve

  • Joining a church department and actively committing yourself to serve.

  • Supporting church activities and programs.

  • Using your gifts and talents to build up the church and encourage others

  • Helping meet practical needs within the church community.

  • Sharing the gospel and leading others to Christ.

  • Showing love, kindness, and compassion to people around you.

  • Supporting the work of God through giving and other acts of generosity.

No act of service in God's kingdom is too small when it is done with a sincere heart for Him. Every act of service, no matter how simple it may seem, contributes to the advancement of God's kingdom.

What gifts, talents, or opportunities has God given you that could be used to serve Him? Are you actively using them, or have they been sitting idle?
